Giovanni Carbonara has passed away.
Architect and full professor of Architectural Restoration at the “Sapienza” University of Rome, where he directed the ‘School of Specialization in Architectural and Landscape Heritage.” A key figure in the field of restoration and academic popularization, he was awarded the Gold Medal of the Benemeriti della Cultura e dell’Arte.
The world of Italian restoration loses one of the last fathers, Restauratori Senza Frontiere loses an important member of its honor committee, a point of reference, a figure always ready to offer valuable contributions, useful to activate constructive debate in the field of conservation.
The funeral will take place in Rome tomorrow, February 3, at 11:30 a.m. at the Church of Santa Chiara in Piazza dei Giochi Delfici.
